FITCHBURG CIVIC DAYS

Created in 1960 by Mayor George Bourque, Fitchburg Civic Days is one of the City’s oldest and longest traditions celebrating the week of the 4th of July. Fitchburg Civic Days brings together not only the residents of Fitchburg, but those of North Central Massachusetts to celebrate Independence Day through a series of family-oriented events which includes the annual 4th of July Parade, one of the largest and last parades in the region. Other annual activities include the Doll Carriage and Bicycle Parade, The Amazing Duck Race, the Civic Days Softball tournament, the Young American Scholarship, and the Downtown Block Party. Civic Days is a tax exempt organization functioning as a committee through the City of Fitchburg. The Committee is 100% volunteer run and strives to feature local businesses and cultural organizations.
